Our Services

1:1 Community Access

We support our participants in the community both socially and emotionally. We understand that support work isn’t just about “getting a coffee” or going out and “having fun.” There’s often a lot more to it than what’s seen on the surface or portrayed on social media.

We see ourselves as listeners, supporters, encouragers, and guides. We also recognise that it can be challenging at times, and how important it is to build genuine relationships while maintaining clear and healthy boundaries.

Active Life Programs

Our inclusive Active Lifestyle Program supports people of all abilities and preferences to get outdoors and stay active. This could be going for a hike, heading to the gym, playing sport, swimming, going for a walk, and much more.

We understand that being active looks different for everyone. We value an active lifestyle and believe it helps build a strong foundation of confidence, which then supports people in developing new skills and working towards greater independence.

Skill Building and Independence

We love supporting our clients to set goals and work towards achieving them. Too often a goal is set, but there’s no clear action taken to get there.

Here, we focus on setting goals that align with each individual’s skills and level of independence, and breaking them down into clear, actionable steps.

The Founder

My name is Michael, and I am the founder of Active Life Support Services. I’ve always found that my life is better when I’m physically active in every area. I’ve had a lot of ups and downs, and when I reflect on those times, I notice that when I’m taking care of my body, I feel more confident — and that confidence flows into every other part of my life.

My preferred way to stay active is going to the gym and doing CrossFit, but an active life can look different for each person.

I was inspired to start this company to help others not only build an active lifestyle, but also develop real life skills, work towards independence, and grow their confidence and self-esteem. A big part of that motivation came from seeing and hearing about other services doing a poor job for their participants — not genuinely supporting them or helping them move towards something meaningful.

That’s when I decided to take the leap. Not only for the people who need the support, but also for myself and my family — to prove that I was capable of building a support service that genuinely cares, and where both Participants and Support Workers feel valued, supported, and proud to be part of it.
